![]() ![]() From Sliema you get access to a variety of boat tours and excursions that can take you to other parts of the Maltese islands, like Gozo and Comino. Although everything inside Valletta’s walls is reachable with a 10-15 minute walk, the benefit of staying on the West-facing side is that you’re close to the ferry that takes you to Sliema. ![]() Generally speaking, within the central part of town it’s always good location to stay, the East-facing side of Valletta (on the Grand Harbour side) is a little better than the West-facing side (although marginally) and only the far end, close to Fort St. Valletta doesn’t really have any “rough neighbourhoods” to speak off, although certain parts may be a little rundown. ![]() Save the cash and sample more food instead. So the minute you set foot out in whatever street you’re staying in, you’ll have plenty of views to enjoy. Valletta isn’t really a place to go and just lounge in bed watching the world through a window, it’s for exploring and taking in.
